Train-the-Trainer Academy Participants

September 2022–June 2023

Two 2022-2023 TSTM Train-the-Trainer Academy Cohorts will start in September 2022 as a partnership with twelve adult education programs across the Commonwealth.

28 ABE/ASE and ESOL teachers from the following adult education programs are currently participating in these cohorts.

  1. Cambridge Community Learning Center
  2. Intergenerational Literacy Program, Chelsea Public Schools
  3. International Institute of New England Boston
  4. Jackson Mann Community School and Council, Boston
  5. Lowell Public Schools
  6. Massasoit Community College
  7. Middlesex Community College
  8. Mujeres Unidas Avanzando
  9. Webster Public Schools
  10. Worcester Public Schools
  11. YMCA Boston
  12. YMCA Woburn

TSTM Academy-Customized Approach Participants

September 2022–June 2023

The 2021-2022 TSTM Academy-Customized Approach Cohorts will be launched in September 2022 as a partnership with four adult education programs across the Commonwealth.

35 ABE/ASE and ESOL teachers from the following adult education programs are currently participating in these cohorts:

  • Bristol Community College, Attleboro
  • Randolph Community Partnership, Randolph
  • Catholic Charities-Haitian Multi Service Center, Boston
  • Jamaica Plain Adult Learning Center, Boston

Massachusetts Teaching Skills That Matter Academies in FY2023

Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) is pleased to offer three types of TSTM professional development opportunities designed to increase rigor in curriculum and instruction:

  • TSTM Customized Approach Academy (two to three cohorts)
  • TSTM Train-the-Trainer Academy (one cohort)
  • TSTM Academy for Adult Education Programs in Corrections (one cohort)

ACLS is currently recruiting teachers and program directors for the FY2023 TSTM Academies. TSTM FY2023 Academies will be launched in September 2022 and will provide participants with in-depth training on the TSTM framework. Below please find detailed information on each type of TSTM Academy and the FY2023 application.

Priority Depending on the # of applications, priority may be given to:
  • Programs with low MSG performance
  • Programs with low PQR ratings in curriculum and instruction
