Welcome to the Office of Literacy and Humanities! We are here to support educators in their work with students and families. We partner with and support the capacity of educators to provide an excellent education in Literacy and Humanities to EVERY student in Massachusetts. Explore our resources for high-quality instructional materials as well as professional learning opportunities.

Our vision is for ALL students in Massachusetts to experience an excellent education in Literacy and Humanities, in which every student:

Masters the rigorous standards and disciplinary skills set forth in the Massachusetts Frameworks for ELA and Literacy, History and Social Science, and Arts
Develops rich interdisciplinary content knowledge about the world
Develops the dispositions and social-emotional competencies needed to thrive in society and life
Develops the capacity to make informed civic choices and assume their responsibility for strengthening equality, justice, and liberty in the world.
