OpenSciEd in MA Since 2018, Massachusetts has been one of 10 partner states in the OpenSciEd consortium that has successfully developed research-based, open-source, equity-centered science instructional materials and professional development designed for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Massachusetts teachers have had the opportunity to field test the units and provide feedback on the units to improve them.
