Federal Grant Programs

Title V Part B

The Rural and Low-Income School Program, Title V Part B(2) of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, is designed to meet the needs of rural school districts that frequently lack the personnel and resources needed to compete for federal competitive grants. Title V funds support activities that align with the District Standards and Indicators and Conditions for School Effectiveness, and that are authorized under:

  1. Title I, Part A (Improving Basic Programs Operated by school districts);
  2. Title II, Part A (Supporting Effective Instruction);
  3. Title III, Part A (Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students);
  4. Title IV, Part A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants); and,
  5. Parental involvement activities.
