Brief Description of Services
The goals of my professional development are based on the interactions with Multilingual learners taught in Adult Basic Education courses. These students range in age from 18 – 60+ and have varied Academic credentials: only high school completion, some college, bachelor's degrees from other countries. In addition, information is gathered from Career and Vocational Educators who describe the challenges they are facing with ML students in their respective trades. As students participate in SEI instruction, information is gathered about where they struggle to meet the needs of their students and/or to understand the value of culturally responsive teaching. As my own reflective practice, I continuously reach out to other faculty for best practices, mentoring, sharing of lessons, and to develop additional relevant lesson plans.
