Summary: How a Strong School Faced Failure. This project documents and disseminates the school’s experiences as a charter school in Restructuring under the No Child Left Behind Accountability System in Massachusetts. How a Strong School Faced Failure was an article published in the November 2006 issue of Educational Leadership. This piece, featured in a publication devoted to “NCLB: Taking Stock, Looking Forward” documents the experiences of the Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School as a school in Restructuring. The article is aimed at encouraging school principals and instructional leaders; teachers; parents and guardians to move forward in the face of challenging circumstances. The piece also documents the experience for researchers.
