Students who qualify for the scholarship will receive award letters and further information in the fall or winter of their senior year.
Notification letters are sent to school district offices, who then distribute letters to students and their families. To view the current annual value of the Adams Scholarship at a specific college or university, please visit: John and Abigail Adams Scholarship.
In order to receive the scholarship, students must notify the financial aid office of the Massachusetts public college or university to which they have been accepted and complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Questions about why a student did not receive a scholarship or other questions about eligibility should be directed to the Office of Student Assessment Services at mcas@mass.gov .
The second round of scholarship award letters for students in the class of 2025 is now available in Edwin Analytics, in the Security Portal, based on results from the November 2024 retest. In each district, the awards are based on the top 25% cut score from the English Language Arts, Mathematics, and High School Science tests.
The first round of scholarship award letters for the class of 2025 was provided in November 2024, based on results through the spring 2024 MCAS administration in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and High School Science.
Letters and lists of eligible students are only available electronically in Edwin Analytics, in the Adams Scholarship Letter report (PE621), on DESE's Security Portal. Users who do not have access can request it from their district-level directory administrator.
