The purpose of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE, or the Department) Facebook page is to share information and facilitate an ongoing dialogue about education issues. We encourage your comments as part of an active and informed discussion. The Department reserves the right to modify this policy at any time and expressly reserves the right to remove comments from its page.

All comments on DESE's Facebook page are reviewed. The Department retains the right to remove or not remove comments. In addition, we expect that participants will treat each other, as well as our agency and our employees, with respect and dignity.

Comments will be removed if they:

  • contain vulgar or abusive language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups;
  • promote services or products (non-commercial links that are relevant to the blog post or comment are acceptable);
  • are clearly "off topic," or "spam";
  • make unsupported accusations; or
  • violate the laws of the United States or the policies of the U.S. Department of Education or DESE.

We won't edit comments to remove objectionable content, so please be sure that your comments contain none of the above.

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers or addresses in the body of your comment.
