Brief Description of Services
Rehearsal Techniques and Performance with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. The Tanglewood Festival Chorus is the official chorus for the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops. Over the course of the winter season, singers will prepare and perform music in a variety of styles and languages with the world-renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra as members of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. They will attend choral rehearsals with James Burton and orchestra rehearsals with Andris Nelsons and several preeminent guest conductors. By working with world class musicians and conductors, singers will be refining their vocal, conducting, and pedagogical skills and becoming true masters of their subject. Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Vocal Technique are addressed and polished through the course of a rehearsal cycle. The Tanglewood Festival Chorus performs choral and symphonic masterworks by composers including Beethoven, Verdi, Shostakovich, and Mahler as well as a cappella chamber works and world premieres.
