Grade 5 and 8 Science and Technology/Engineering (STE) Transition Timeline

Timeline for the New Grades 5 and 8 STE MCAS:

  • 2023–2024: Expanded pilot of approximately 10,000 students per grade in grades 5 and 8
  • 2024–2025: Anticipated statewide field test for all students in grades 5 and 8
  • 2025–2026: Anticipated first operational year with results reported to schools and districts
