The purpose of this continuation grant program is to provide funding for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to implement Sustainable Improvement Plans in their identified schools.
This grant opportunity is open to awardees of initial School Redesign Grants (SRG) grants in FY20. A complete list of eligible schools is located below under Additional Information. Funding is contingent upon Department receipt of federal Title I funds.

Based on a combination of Massachusetts' federal School Improvement Grant (SIG) allocations and federal Title I funds, LEAs are awarded a School Redesign Grant (SRG) from Upon Approval (no earlier than September 1, 2021) through August 31, 2022. Budget amounts that differ from the originally projected total must be accompanied by a compelling rationale and evidence must align with the priorities and strategies outlined in the application. The original award total cannot be increased.
Funding is contingent upon availability. All dollar amounts listed are estimated/approximate and are subject to change. If more funding is to become available, it will be distributed under the same guideline as listed in the initial RFP document.
Fund use must be consistent with applicable state and federal requirements. All expenditures must closely align with the implementation of the sustainable improvement plan. LEA level expenditures must directly support the implementation of the sustainable improvement plan at the identified schools.

All expenditures will be closely reviewed as they relate to the priorities of this grant opportunity.

Email an electronic copy of the updated sustainable improvement plan to Michael.J.Seymour@mass.gov no later than 12:00pm on October 15, 2021.
Submit all required grant materials through EdGrants before September 1, 2021 in order to have a 9/1/2021 start date.
In EdGrants, districts are required to create and name the project. Please use the following naming convention for your "Applicant Project Name" in EdGrants:

All items listed under the required forms section of this RFP should be uploaded / attached in the Attachments List formlet of the Application Submission in EdGrants. This includes a signed / scanned PDF of Part I / Coversheet with Superintendent's signature. The final budget the applicant is requesting will be entered directly into EdGrants as part of the application submission process.

Districts must complete the Application Submission including the budget in EdGrants in order to receive their funding. The Application Submission in EdGrants can be completed as soon as the RFP is posted and the sustainable improvement plan needs to be emailed by October 15, 2021.
