Career and Technical Education Partnership Planning Grant

Purpose:
The purpose of this federally funded competitive Career and Technical Education (CTE) Partnership Planning Grant (Phase 1) is to support regional and local partnerships to expand existing and/or develop new CTE programs and initiatives that increase student access to CTE opportunities, primarily through more effective use and integration of existing capacity and resources. Eligible students include secondary and other students served under the Carl D. Perkins Improvement Career and Technical Education Improvement Act, P.L. 109-270. Services provided are to supplement currently funded local, state, and federal programs.

Fifteen (15) school districts will receive funding to engage in a planning process with identified partners to expand existing and/or develop new CTE programs and initiatives that increase student access to CTE opportunities, primarily through more effective use and integration of existing capacity and resources.
Of the 15 projects awarded funding, ten involve Gateway Cities and 11 utilize vocational-technical instructional and shop space during under-utilized hours.
