The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking public comment on a proposed amendment to the calculation of the list of districts in the lowest 10 percent, which is required by statute. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, no MCAS administration occurred in FY2020 and, therefore, no MCAS results were released in FY2021. To deal with this unprecedented situation, the proposed approach would add one sentence to the current regulation, effectively maintaining the list that was released in spring 2020.
Memorandum to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education — April 9, 2021
603 CMR 1.04(9): Strikethrough version of regulations showing proposed amendment
The proposed amendment and related public comment will be shared with the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for final consideration in June 2021.
We welcome your comments regarding the proposed amendment. Comments may be submitted via email to charterschools@mass.gov until Friday, May 28, 2021.
