Chapter 74 approved career vocational and technical education (CTE) programs in Massachusetts have received broad policy and educational support in recent years. Evidence of strong outcomes among students participating in these programs, and high demand for access to schools offering these programs have led policy makers to explore the extent to which more demand exists relative to the available supply of these programs. This brief begins to describe the volume of demand, relative to supply, and how imbalance in supply and demand is associated with particular features of schools or programs.
