Report - Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing Program Facility Survey

In Fall 2004, the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety (DOS), with my endorsement, conducted a survey of automotive collision repair and refinishing program facilities in high schools. The survey was designed to ascertain potential exposure of teachers and students to lead paint as well as other hazards. DOS undertook this measure as part of its responsibility for both protecting the Massachusetts workforce and assisting public employers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Enclosed is a copy of the report along with a cover letter from Richard Rabin of DOS. Please review the report and take appropriate actions on the recommendations to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. At the conclusion of the report, there is an application for a free, on-site consultation of your facility, offered by DOS - Occupational Hygiene/Indoor Air Quality Program. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this offer. If you have any questions, please contact Richard Rabin of DOS at (617) 969-7177, ext. 309.
