The purpose of this federally funded Career/Vocational Technical education (CTE) Student Organization continuation grant program is to help participating students prepare for success after high school in the field of education. The Strengthening Career and Technical Education in the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) permits funds to be used to support CTE Student Organization programs for the continuous improvement of Career/Vocational Technical education in Massachusetts.
The priorities for the grant include but are not limited to:
Providing a teacher preparation program geared towards secondary students.
Addressing the diversity gap in education by preparing a future of diverse educators to be successful in the education field.
Curating resources for students and educators
Working directly with districts as needed.
Eligible applicants must be designated as a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). These organizations serve students enrolled in career and technical education programs by engaging students in a variety of career development and leadership activities. Only those awarded the FY2021 competitive grant are eligible to apply.
Eligible applicants must also have documented experience supporting high school students interested in education careers and supporting the development of clear pathways to increasing teacher diversity and quality.
