The purpose of this grant program is to provide contextualized ABE/ESOL basic skills workplace instructional services to incumbent workers lacking the basic foundation skills expected of a high school graduate and/or who are limited English proficient.
The priority is to support programs that deliver instructional services through partnerships between an education provider and a business or between an education provider and multiple businesses (consortia). These partnerships are supported by a combination of state grants and employer matching resources for a maximum of three years.
This is a continuation grant. Five eligible recipients are those programs initially funded in FY 16 and for whom FY 19 is the final year of funding. See list below.
All five eligible recipients must document evidence of continuing need for Adult Basic Education instruction in the workforce.
The following five workplace education partnerships are eligible to apply for the grant awards listed.
Federal CFDA: 84.002
All recipients awarded in the FY 16 Open and Competitive process are eligible to apply. FY 19 is the final year of funding for these five federal grants.
Note: Administrative costs must not exceed 20%.
Funding is contingent upon availability. All dollar amounts listed are estimated/approximate and are subject to change. If more funding is to become available it will be distributed under the same guideline as listed in the initial RFP document.
Funds must be used for collaborations between/among an education provider and a business or consortia of businesses.
