Cluster - Production and Distribution of Writing
[W.1.4] - Produce writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. (Grade-specific expectations for writing types are defined in Standards 1-3 above.)

Broadly, the intended readers, listeners, or viewers of a text in any medium or format; in theatre, attendees at the performance of a drama, reading, or speech. - Structure
Broadly, anything composed of parts arranged together in some way; in language arts, the relationships or organization of the component parts in a literary text. - Text types and purposes
The Writing Standards of this Framework emphasize three types of writing that are widely used in college study, careers, and civic participation. Many successful pieces of writing combine different text types in a single piece; for example, an argument may include a short narrative anecdote as evidence.

Write opinion pieces that introduce the topic or name the book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.
