After-School and Out-of-School Time (ASOST) Pilot Data-Sharing Targeted Funds Grant

Purpose: | For the operation of a pilot data-sharing program designed to provide school districts with funds to partner with local community-based organizations (CBOs) and to share identifiable student data to the extent allowed by law, as described in Fiscal Year 2017-2018 (FY18) state budget 7061-9611 line item language: "…provided further, that not less than $100,000 shall be expended for the operation of a pilot data-sharing program designed to provide school districts with funds to partner with local community-based organizations and share identifiable student data to the extent allowed by law; provided further, that the pilot program shall be for not more than 3 years; provided further, that the afterschool and out-of-school time coordinating council shall recommend funds to 2 school districts for the pilot program; provided further, that the afterschool and out-of-school time coordinating council shall conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on the pilot data sharing program; provided further, that the Massachusetts afterschool and out-of-school time coordinating council shall file a report on the effects of the pilot program on students participating in the programs partnered with the school districts with the clerks of the senate and the house of representatives and the chairs of the senate and house committees on ways and means not later than December 31, 2018…." |
Eligibility: | Massachusetts based non-profit organizations. Applicants must demonstrate substantial experience with fostering partnerships between public schools and CBOs in the out-of-school time (OST) field. |

Funding: | Approximate up to $100,000 is available. Funding is contingent upon availability. All dollar amounts listed are estimated/approximate and are subject to change. If more funding is to become available it will be distributed under the same guideline as listed in the initial RFP document. |
Fund Use: | Funds must be used in alignment with the respective line item language, and as described in a budget, budget narrative, and required program information that is submitted to the Department's Office of Student and Family Support. Note: Indirect costs may not be charged to this grant |
Project Duration: | Upon Approval - 6/30/2018 and/or 7/1/2018 - 8/31/2018 Pending budget appropriation, continuation of funding will be available for a total grant period of up to three years (FY18-FY20). Continuation funding is contingent upon implementation of grant-required activities and submission of required reporting and continuation applications. |

Submission Instructions: | Email one (1) complete set of all required documents, in their original Word or Excel formats (i.e., not converted to a PDF), and email one scanned version of both Part I documents (school year and summer), to asost@doe.mass.edu by the date noted above. Awarded Recipients: Upon award, recipients will be required to enter the approved budget and attach Part I and Part III in EdGrants. Once selected, recipients will be contacted with further instructions on the process. |
