Science and Technology/Engineering | Grade : 4
Discipline - Physical Science
Core Idea - Energy
[4.PS.3.1] - Use evidence to construct an explanation relating the speed of an object to the energy of that object. State Assessment Boundaries: State assessment will be limited to analysis of kinetic energy. Accounting for mass, quantitative measures of changes in the speed of an object, or any precise or quantitative definition of energy is not expected in state assessment.
[W.4.8] -
Recall relevant information from experiences or gather relevant information from print and digital sources; take notes and categorize information, and provide a list of sources.
[W.4.9] -
Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support written analysis, reflection, and research, applying one or more grade 4 standards for Reading Literature or Reading Informational Text as needed.
[SL.4.3] -
Identify the reasons and evidence a speaker provides to support particular points.
[4.PS.3.3] -
Ask questions and predict outcomes about the changes in energy that occur when objects collide. Clarification Statement: Changes in energy can include a change in the object’s motion, position, and the generation of heat and/or sound. State Assessment Boundary: Analysis of forces or quantitative measurements of energy are not expected in state assessment.
