Mathematics | Grade : 2
Domain - Measurement and Data
Cluster - Represent and interpret data.
[2.MD.D.10] - Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph. See Glossary, Table 1
[2.OA.A.1] -
Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. See Glossary, Table 1
[2.LS.2.3] -
Develop and use models to compare how plants and animals depend on their surroundings and other living things to meet their needs in the places they live.Clarification Statement: Animals need food, water, air, shelter, and favorable temperature; plants need sufficient light, water, minerals, favorable temperature, and animals or other mechanisms to disperse seeds.
[2.PS.3.1] -
Design and conduct an experiment to show the effects of friction on the relative temperature and speed of objects that rub against each other.
Clarification Statements: Examples could include an object sliding on rough vs. smooth surfaces; Observations of temperature and speed should be qualitative.
