  • Paraphrase
    Restatement of speech or writing that retains the basic meaning while changing the words; often clarifies the original text by putting it into words more easily understood.
  • Print or digital (texts, sources)
    In this document, sometimes added for emphasis to stress that a given standard is particularly likely to be applied to electronic as well as traditional texts; in general, however, the standards are assumed to apply to both print and digital texts.
  • Research
    Systematic inquiry into a subject or problem in order to discover, verify, or revise relevant facts or principles.
