[SL.2.5] - Create audio recordings of stories or poems; add drawings or other visual displays to stories or descriptions of experiences when appropriate to clarify ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

  • Description
    An author’s use of words to illustrate a scene, event, phenomenon, object, or character; descriptions in literary texts usually contain carefully chosen imagery that appeals to the audience’s sense of sight, sound, smell, touch, or taste.
  • Oral
    Spoken aloud: for example, a student delivering a presentation to classmates is giving an oral report. See Verbal.
  • Poem/poetry
    Creative response to experience reflecting a keen awareness of language, often characterized by a rhyme scheme or by rhythm far more regular than that of prose.
