Update on Race to the Top

At the Board's special meeting on Monday evening, October 26th, we presented an overview of our approach to each of the key areas that will be included in our application for federal Race to the Top funding: standards and assessments, data systems to support instruction, great teachers and leaders, turning around struggling schools, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). I will update the Board at our November 17th meeting about our continuing work on the proposal.
